Shen Zhou (1427-1509) was named Qinan, named Ishida, Baishiweng, Yutiansheng, and the owner of Yuju Bamboo House, etc., known as "Mr. Ishida" in the world. A native of Changzhou Xiangcheng (Wuxian, Jiangsu). He is one of the four major artists in the painting circle in the middle of the Ming Dynasty (the other three are Wen Zhengming, Tang Yin, and Qiu Ying). He is known as the head of the "Wumen School of Painting" in the south of the Yangtze River. He has a profound influence in the history of painting.

Shen Zhou's great-grandfather was Wang Meng's good friend, his father Hengji, and Du Qiong's student, painting and calligraphy is the origin of family learning. Both my father and uncle are well-known in the township for their poetry, writing and painting. Born in a family of poetry and painting, his ancestors collected a lot, and he knew a lot about ancient poetry and painting. Affected by his ancestors, Shen Zhou Yisheng was not an official, he was indifferent to fame, expansive and diligent, and only "adapted to his own needs", devoted himself to the art of danqing and poetry, and studied the excellent theories and techniques of his predecessors assiduously, so his art was simple and simple. Emotional and pure style, he formed his own style and became the most influential and original painter after Dai Jin in the second half of the fifteenth century in my country. He has made outstanding achievements in painting, calligraphy, literature and art.

The most outstanding achievement of Shen Zhou is in painting. During the Jiajing period, Suzhou celebrity Wang Deng stated in (Wu Jun Dan Qing Zhi), "Mr. (Ishida) painting things is the first in the contemporary era". Shen Zhou has an eclectic approach to painting and has a wide range of paintings. He is proficient in all figures, landscapes, flowers and birds, and his achievements in landscapes and flowers and birds are particularly outstanding.

Shen Zhou’s calligraphy started in the family biography, and at the beginning he mainly studied the styles of Zhao Mengfu and Su Shi; from about forty years old, he began to learn Zhao, Zhong (Yao), Wang (Xizhi), Er Shen (Du, Mi) and Song Sijia ( Su Shi, Mi Fu, Huang Tingjian, Cai Xiang), and the most diligent to the Song four families; in his later years, he was more devoted to studying Huang Tingjian. He likes to wave the book with a wolf. The lines are sharp and sharp, the structure is ups and downs, the central palace is tightened and the four-dimensional opening, the so-called "long-handed and large-stretched", is also a master of calligraphy in the Ming Dynasty. The handed down ink marks include "Hua Xu Shu Juan (化须疏卷)", "Luo Hua Shi Juan (落花诗卷)" and so on.
